MFT May Release Countdown--Day 2

It's 2 more sleeps until My Favorite Things May Release! Are your wish
lists growing each day?

Today I'm sharing a project using the new Giraffing Me Crazy set with--
you guessed it--giraffes! It's a versatile set that can be used to welcome a
new baby, for Mother's Day, or "just because" cards.

I wanted to keep the whimsical look of the images, so I white embossed, then
ink distressed them. Copics were used to fill in the spots, muzzle, and mane.
A stitched dome piece was ink distressed and stenciled clouds were added to
give the piece some dimension.

A kraft card base was stenciled with the Crosshatch design and the dome
was adhered on top. The card was finished off with the sentiment and enamel
dots. Also, their eyes were dotted with Ebony Nuvo Drops.

MFT May Release Countdown--Day 3

It's 3 days until My Favorite Thing May Release. Yes, we're halfway there!
And all new products go on sale Tuesday, May 2nd at 9PM EST.

Today I'm sharing this month's Pure Innocence cutie--Beach Day.

The background is the new Mermaid's Tail that was white embossed and
painted in with Peerless watercolors and a water brush, then adhered to a white
card base when it was dried. The little girl and her sand castle were colored with
Copics and cut with the matching dies. And the sunglasses? She borrowed them
from another Pure Innocence girl.

A sandy slope was cut with Die-namics Ocean Waves and adhered to the card.
The little girl and sand castle were popped up on the card and finished off with
the frame. A white embossed sentiment banner completed the card.

MFT May Release Countdown--Day 4

Welcome to Day 4 of My Favorite Things May Release Countdown!

This month's Birdie Brown is Mermazing--a set of adorable mermaids and
friends, and everything you need to build an underwater scene. Today
I'm sharing two cards with ink distressed backgrounds and "wonky" edges.
I'll explain how the wonky edges came to be after showing you the cards.

For the first card, I added the rocks and popped up the turtle and mermaid that
were both colored with Copic markers. I white embossed the punny sentiment.

For the second card, I stamped seaweed along the bottom, then added
three clown fish and a mermaid, and finished off with the sentiment. Also,
both cards have Nuvo Morning Dew on them that look like water drops!

Still curious about the wonky edges? Before I ink distressed each panel, I tore
Post It Tape in half lengthwise to get uneven edges. I removed the tape after I was
happy with the inking, and spattered water over the surface, then let them dry.

Not a fan of wonky edges? Then omit the tearing and run the tape on the
edges of the card, then ink distress for a straight edge.
