MFT February Creative Construction with Blueprints--Let's Get Interactive

Flaps, windows, and pull-out tabs are all inviting ways to encourage your
recipients to interact with your creations. Our exclusive collection of Blueprints
Die-namics include a variety of interactive design features and this month, our
team is ready to inspire you to use them in your own creations.

Here's my card, using Blueprints 28. This set of Blueprints was introduced a
while back and I didn't get a chance to play with it--until now. And it's a fun one!
When the flap is closed, it looks pretty ordinary and there's no hint as to
what's inside, except for the stamped sentiment.

But lift up the flap and...

...there's a little tropical scene, complete with a mai tai lovin' penguin!

After stamping a woodgrain pattern on a kraft panel, I cut it with the
rectangle element from Blueprints 28. The front of the flap was decorated
with chevrons, and a circle was cut and adhered to keep the flap closed.

A watercolor panel was inked with Distress inks and spattered with
water. The penguin and palm tree was cut and colored with Copics
and adhered to the card together with some clouds. In hindsight, I
should have cut out the little beach ball and used it as the stopper.
Oh well, next time!
