MFT February Release Countdown Day 2

It's two more days until My Favorite Things February Release!
Today I'm excited to share a fun stamp set that's perfect for any outer space
enthusiasts--Out of This World. Spaceships, and aliens, and stars, oh my!

For the celestial background, I ink distressed several colors of Distress inks and
spattered quite a bit of water over the surface. The images on the set are whimsical
and fun. I chose three and colored them with Copics, then cut them out with the
matching dies and adhered them to the panel.

The sentiment was white embossed on a strip of navy card stock and trimmed
into a banner, then stapled to the edge of the panel. The panel was adhered
to a card base, and I added some Sparkling Clear sequins. You can't tell from the
photo, but I added some sparkle with Wink of Stella on all the lights and windows.

MFT February Release Countdown Day 3

We're on Day 3 of My Favorite Things February Release Countdown
and with this month's theme of "luck", Pure Innocence Lucky Us features
a little cutie toting a huge horseshoe.

I masked off the side and bottom of white card stock and white embossed
the sentiment before ink distressing with two colors of Distress inks.
The little girl was colored with Copics and diecut with the matching dies.

I added the new Farm Fence Die-namics to ground her and added a few
enamel dots. Finally, I brushed on some Clear Wink of Stella on the
horseshoe for extra blingy luck!

MFT February Release Countdown Day 4

Welcome to Day 4 of My Favorite Things February Release Countdown!

This month, Birdie Brown introduces Recipe for Happiness featuring some
seasoned chefs, and I was inspired to create something other than a card--
embroidery hoop projects that can be used as kitchen decor.

Blogging friend Amy Tsuruta is the queen of hoop projects. Check out her
creations here, here, and here. Cute, huh? I decided to give it a go.

Basically, you separate the inner hoop from the outer hoop by loosening the screw
on the top, then glue the inner hoop to the wrong side of printed paper. After it dries,
use an X-acto knife to trim around the edge. I used a sanding block to smooth out any
rough edges. Reassemble the hoops and you are now ready to decorate as you wish.

For both hoops, I used patterned paper from the Painted Prints Smitten collection.
The chefs were colored with Copics and die cut with the matching dies. Both
sentiments were white embossed and the banner strips were adhered together
with the chef and hearts.

Here's one more look at my project--I really like how they turned out.
A big shout out to Amy for the inspiration. This may be my new "go to" project!

MFT February Release Countdown Day 5

Welcome to Day 5 of My Favorite Things February Release Countdown!

It's a new month featuring fresh new products: stamps, Die-namics, patterned
papers, card stock, inks, and much more! I'm sure you'll see a thing or two
that you'll just have to have.

Today I'm sharing Lisa Johnson's Whimsical Greetings, a cool window die,
and an early peek at some gorgeous blooms!

I created smaller 4 Bar notecards from Stone Gray card stock and die cut
the Rectangle Peek-a-Boo Window on the front. A small panel was die cut from
black card stock to fit behind the window. I white embossed the sentiment
then "smeared" some white pigment ink across to create a chalkboard effect.

To accommodate the sentiment on the second card, I folded the card in
landscape format, die cut the window, and created the chalkboard effect
after white embossing the sentiment. For both cards, I die cut some Large Desert
Bouquet flowers, and leaves from the Leafy Greenery Die-namics and adhered
them to the card.
