The Card Concept 29

The Card Concept 29 has a Get Well theme, along with inspiration from this photo.

Here's my card. I was inspired by the colors and display of the crocheted flowers.

The inspiration for my card came from Nina-Marie and her amazingly gorgeous
spattered masterpiece here.

I chose two butterflies from Paper Smooches Graceful Beauties set, inked them
with Distress inks, sprayed them with water, then stamped them on watercolor paper.
I spattered coordinating watered down inks, and the sentiment is also from Paper Smooches.

I would define my card as somewhat clean and simple. There's still quite a bit of
white space but in hindsight, I should have used smaller butterflies.

And you still have time, if you haven't already, to leave a comment here

CAS(E) this Sketch 112

Here's CAS(E) this Sketch 112 brought to you by Chrissy, and it's a fun one!

Here's my simplified take on it.

I used two papers from Studio Calico's Far Far Away Card kit and added the
sentiment from My Favorite Things, die cut from gold foil cardstock.
The second part of the sentiment is from a Studio Calico stamp set.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of my teammates interpreted the sketch
and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, March 5th.

Essentials by Ellen Winter Release 2015 Blog Hop

Hello, and welcome to the Winter 2015 Essentials by Ellen Release Hop!
I'll be showcasing several of the new stamp sets and dies on my post today,
all designed by the one and only Julie Ebersole.

And, yay, I get to give this new stamp set called Fancy Thanks to a lucky someone
just for leaving a comment on this post!

Here are a couple of cards I created with this versatile stamp set.

For this card, I brought back the Prize Stag from the first Essentials by Ellen release
and added him and the sentiment to a watercolored background.

On the second card, I added some blooms using the Bold Blossoms stand alone dies
that were die cut from gold foil cardstock and backed with colored cardstock.
The sentiment was gold embossed and I added a sprinkling of gold sequins.

My last card uses Love You So, a fun set with brushstroke sentiments.
I inked several colors of Distress Inks and stamped the sentiment in each circle
with Archival ink. A quick and easy card for any "lovey dovey" occasion.

There is also a GRAND GIVEAWAY in the Ellen Hutson Classroom! To enter, be sure
to leave a comment there, and at every stop along the hop by March 2nd.

CAS(E) this Sketch 111

Here's CAS(E) this Sketch 111, brought to you by our former teammate Lesley.

And here's my take on it.

Yep, I turned it 90 degrees and flipped it. Totally rogue.
The stag head that was laying on my craft table finally found a home
on the card. I masked off, then ink distressed a contrasting color under him.
The gold embossed sentiment is from Savvy Stamps and the sequins are Pretty Pink Posh.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the design team interpreted the sketch
and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, February 26th,
and as a winner, you may be joining us as a guest designer!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hero Hostesses Blog Hop!

Welcome to Hero Arts 2015 Spring Catalog Blog Hop!

All this week the Hero Hostesses will be sharing projects featuring fabulous stamps
from the new Spring release. If you've been following along, you should have arrived
here from the blog of the effervescent Judy Jung.

Hero Arts will be awarding prizes from randomly drawn comments.
For a chance to win, simply comment on ANY blog post on ANY day, including each day's
starting post at the Hero Arts blog. And the more comments you leave, the better your chance
of winning! You can find today's master hop list here.

Now it's time to meet my card.
Earlier on Instagram, I shared a shot of my ink smooshed background, ala Laurafadora.
It was all dressed up with nowhere to go.

When I saw Absolutely Awesome, I knew that it belonged on my card.

I love the mixed fonts on the sentiment, with the cool handwriting of our own
Kelly Rasmussen. I'm hoping to see more original sentiments from Kelly in the future.

After white embossing Lines Background on watercolor paper, I inked various colors of
Distress inks on an acrylic block, spritzed some water, and then "smooshed" the block
onto the card. I love how the colors pooled in certain areas of the design.

The sentiment was gold embossed on vellum and I used spray adhesive to attach it to the card.
Some gold sequins finished off the card.

Next up is my hostess sista, Lin. I can't wait to see what she's created!
Remember that all products shown on the hop are now on sale in the Hero Arts Online Store.

Happy hopping, and happy shopping!
