CAS(E) this Sketch 52

(Note: Please click here or scroll down for Avery Elle's Release Hop. Thank you!)

Here's Sketch 52 from former teammate Karolyn Loncon.

And here's my simplified take on it.

I rediscovered my embossing folders which have long been neglected.
I like how it gives the card some funky texture and looks a bit like
modeling paste without all the mess.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the design team
interpreted the sketch and play along with us if you can.
As a winner, you may be asked to guest design with us!
Remember to link up your card(s) by Thursday, November 7th.

Avery Elle October/November Release Hop

Welcome Avery Elle's October/November Release Hop!
I hope you arrived here from JJ's blog. If not, start at the beginning at Avery Elle,
and leave comments along the way because one lucky commenter will win
a $25 gift certificate to use in the Avery Elle store!

First I'd like to share my card using LAURELS, which is one of my favorite
Avery Elle sets that come with coordinating dies. I don't know about you,
but I've become quite spoiled with matching dies because they make life so much easier!

Originally,  I was going to create a round card but I added too many flowers
so I attached the circle to a square card base and turned it into an A2 card size.

I love how the flowers look against Avery Elle's Truffle cardstock.
I used the dotted tile from TEXTURE TILES--BE CUTE to give the card some texture
and gold embossed the sentiment that comes with the set.
And oh, how I love that two toned bow!

More Lawn Fawn Leaves

Blogging friend Dawn Turley encouraged me to enter this card
over at Die Cut Diva's since this month's theme is Autumn or Animals.
I had enough leaves to create two more cards and decided to enter the challenge.

Here are the cards, made with leftover leaves.

I love the mixed font sentiments from Jane's Doodles and I LOVE
Lawn Fawn's Stitched Leaves dies. Can you tell?

Thanks for stopping by!

Tuesday Trigger--Enthralled With Fall

I gasped when I saw this week's Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World.
Those pink and orange leaves? Gorgeous!

You see, in Hawaii, we aren't lucky enough to see the changing of the leaves.
Leaves here are either green, greenish yellow, or brown. Brown means dead.

For my card I used two distress inks, a fun sentiment set by Kelly Purkey,
and a mini maple leaf die from Avery Elle.
I mounted the piece at an angle, something I've always wanted to try
ever since I saw Laura Bassen do it and it looked so cool!

The deadline to enter is Sunday, October 27th at midnight.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

CAS(E) this Sketch 51

Here's this week's sketch from N@Ali.

And here's my very literal take on it.
I flipped the sketch because my plane happened to be flying east
and I kept it a white on white card. With a touch of grey.

And to challenge myself, I created a second card--sans airplane.
A very loose take on the sketch. Do you see it? I hope so!

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the design team interpreted the sketch
and play along with us if you can.
Make sure to link up your card by Thursday, October 31st.

Thanks for stopping by!

(Note: The cloud dies are by CC Designs but have been discontinued)

Avery Elle's Build a Banner

Today I'll be showcasing Avery Elle's BUILD A BANNER Clear Stamps
that come with coordinating dies. The possibilities for creating banners are endless
and there are several Avery Elle sentiments that fit perfectly inside them.
Here's my card.

I wanted to create a bouquet with the LAURELS set and trimmed
some of the leaves in half to have longer stems. The cut portions
were covered perfectly with the banner, which is exactly what I was hoping to do.
The sentiment is from PAPEL PICADO BANNERS, that was curved a bit to fit.

Here are some samples showing how to build the banners.
It's so easy and practically foolproof and the results are awesome!

And if you want to see a "live" tutorial using the banner dies and stamps,
check out our teammie Heather Campbell in Ellen Hutson's Classroom.
Lastly, you must check out Nina's blog and see how she transformed
an acorn into a fashion accessory!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
